Lockdown 2

This lockdown was not a lockdown.

School…

I was going to school and seeing people and social distancing is hard in a class of 30.

How did they think that was going to happen?

In other words, they sent us to our deaths (exaggerating).

To be honest, I don’t know what I would do if I was president and there was a pandemic (my attempt to stay neutral).

I was going into yr 12 which is a change so that first-day in school meant a lot just so we could settle and enter the new system.

However, I don’t know if that is a good enough reason.

For the other years, I think that they could just stay at home.

I get it because when this is all over they will have no sympathy for us.

We will be expected to have the grades, knowledge to go into the world even though our experience was and is completely different.

Like I can just tell that people will be sick of us - ‘oh you’re one of the kids that had to do remote learning and you guys complain all the time and say everything isn’t fair’.

Then they continue to say that life isn’t fair and all the other stuff that they think is important.

The other thing is that they could have just had the exam years go in and the rest of the years say at school. This would allow for kids to be split into smaller groups which can social distance around the room. Although, I don’t know if there are enough teachers who could do a zoom call or a google meet or whatever app you are using.

I mean for about a month for an unknown reason one of my teachers wasn’t in and she taught us remotely.

The buses

This was a joke.

So if you go to school or have ever gone to school you know that there is always a bus stop that is packed. Like packed.

My headteacher said that she had called whoever owns the buses to tell them to send more.

Now it is winter and I don’t know about you but if my child was out till 4 waiting for a bus because there are so many people I would be mad.

Obviously, before lockdown, this was happening.

Let us talk about school service and nonschool service.

It doesn’t work.

Like no school kids are allowed on the nonschool service which s the rule and that is fine.

But when you are letting adults onto the school service that is annoying because then there is not enough space.

And I know when I get a bit older this will no longer be my problem but it is annoying. Especially how just being around people can give you anxiety - if it didn't already.

There have to be more buses because only 30 people are allowed on the bus but then sometimes kids are all pushing to get on the bus. Which was the norm.

If there is going to change it has to be a two-way thing. If there are a limited amount of people on the bus then you have to send more buses.

However, I don’t know everything s this could actually be difficult in terms of there not being enough bus drivers or other things.

Eat-out project

Ummmmm… this was something.

It was like a wolf in sheep’s clothing kind of thing.

I am going to try and not put my opinion on this but what I saw was…

‘Go out have fun and be safe’

Then

‘How could young people do this, they are so selfish. Do they not know that there is a pandemic going round’

Now

If you are confused then same because what?

Anyways, there was one thing that I enjoyed about it though and that was that I went to an expensive place expecting to pay £30 per person.

As opposed to a chicken shop which at most would have been £5. And my meal was £15-£17.

I was so happy. I thought all my money would be gone that day. (There was only two of us btw)

People don't care…

I don’t mean this in a negative way but I don't think people are scared anymore.

The only people who are scared are people who know someone who has had it is scared. The others are bored.

I mean before lockdown 1, the idea of lockdown 1 was a joke and people were overreacting.

I get it I am at home, I am kind of bored. However, I am lucky that I didn't or don't watch Netflix that much because it means that I have all that content to get through.

I mean it is annoying to see other countries just doing their thing and being covid free.

The only thing that I am excited about is that when I have grandkids or just when I see children. I'm going to be like 'in my day we couldn't even leave the house.' And then I’ll lie and say that they would beat us if we did. Just to scare them.

Let me know…

How do you find this lockdown?

Did it affect you as much as lockdown 1?

Did you find it easier because you could leave the house or apartment and go places?

What would you have done instead of what has been done to protect people?

How did your organisation (school, work, whatever you do during the day bc corona) deal with the new rules?
